Irish Aviation & Air Traffic Control

Wed 29th July 2026

In this presentation, Mick Campbell will take us on a fascinating journey through time, from the early development of Aviation and Air Traffic Control in Ireland, to the high-tech industry that currently exists.

Today’s Aviation world is greatly advanced from the days of the Flying Boats at Foynes, to the opening of Shannon Airport in July 1939, followed shortly afterwards by Dublin Airport in January 1940.

Mick will also recount some of the more interesting events that have featured on his Irish Skies Pod YouTube channel.

The Irish Skies Pod can be found at: www.youtube.com/@IrishSkiesPod, where you are welcome to subscribe to the channel for free.
